I was diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disorder called Grave’s disease many years ago, I have managed to keep it under control with anti-thyroid drugs but unfortunately it is not a very sustainable treatment option. I have had doctors try to force me to remove my thyroid (a common treatment for Grave’s disease) but I refuse to remove a healthy part of my body when it is just an innocent victim to my immune system.
I am finally at a point in my life where I have time, will power, and stability to prep my meals in advance every week and eat an anti-inflammatory, nourishing, paleo diet to see if this will benefit my condition. Many people with autoimmune disorders benefit from the autoimmune protocol (AIP) and the paleo diet and this blog is an opportunity for me to track my progress, share recipes, and hopefully help others and connect with people who are also on a journey to health and wellness by changing their diets and lifestyle.
